University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) Medical School
UCLan Medical School, ranked as the Top Medical School in North-West England in The Guardian University Guide 2021, offers a 5-year Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme. The programme offers an innovative approach to medical education with a focus on early patient contact and work-based learning
Year 1 & 2 of the MBBS take place at the Preston campus followed by three years at the Burnley or Westlakes campus. Patient contact starts in Year 1 with placements in a family doctor practice (GP). Years 3, 4 & 5 are largely spent on supervised placements at local National Health Service (NHS) hospitals
UCLan Medical School is recognised by the General Medical Council (GMC) on its list of bodies able to award UK primary medical qualifications
