Applying for your visa for IFG Abu Dhabi

Studying on a tourist Visa

You can study at IFG Abu Dhabi on a Tourist Visa. You can apply for this through a tourist agency in your home country or IFG can apply for this on your behalf through our partner agency in the UAE. Sometimes the Tourist Visa can be obtained upon arrival depending on your country of origin.

The duration of the Tourist Visa can also vary with a maximum of 90 days so please check before arriving in the UAE. If you are applying for a Tourist Visa and You are below 18, you will need to apply for another Tourist Visa for your parent(preferably mother), who will not need to travel with you.

In order to apply for a Tourist visa, you will need:

  • a clear coloured scan of international passport with at least 6 months unexpired
  • a clear coloured passport-style professional photo – preferably digital
  • a clear coloured scan of international passport with at least 6 months unexpired for your parent (if you are below 18)
  • a clear coloured passport-style professional photo – preferably digital for your parent (if you are below 18)

IFG can advise you on the visa application process but details can change so for current details, fees and application please always refer to the UAE entry requirements website.

Applying for your visa for university in the UK

After successfully completing your IFG Programme you will need to apply for another visa for your UK university study.  Your university will advise you of the process and requirements once they have confirmed their unconditional offer of a place on your chosen course.

For university in the UK, you will need to apply for a Student Visa, which you will need to apply for when you are back in your country.  You can find details of fees and the application process at https://www.gov.uk/student-visa.

FAQ

There is no language requirement for a Tourist Visa. However, for IFG programmes we do have English Language entry requirements – please see our Entry requirements page for details.

When applying for a Tourist Visa there are no specific financial requirements.

Unfortunately, you are unable to work while studying at IFG because working is not permitted for international students studying at below degree level plus working is not permitted on a Standard Visitor Visa. However, if after your IFG programme you progress to university you can work up to 15 hours per week or 60 hours per month.

When your 30- or 60-day Tourist Visa expires you can apply for extension twice – each extension gives you an additional period of 30 days. This extension MUST be done by the same agency/party that applied for your original Tourist Visa, as the files must be connected.

A Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is a reference number that your university will send to you after they have confirmed their unconditional offer of a place. You will then be able to use your CAS to apply for you Student Visa in the UK.
