The aim of our pr-arrival guide is to give you some practical advice and information to help you prepare for your arrival and for life in the UAE. We hope this information will help you plan in advance and make your move to the UAE as smooth as possible.
The guide also contains important information on IFG programmes and policies, so you can familiarise yourself with these.
Download pre-arrival guideIf you contact us before you travel, we can arrange for a driver to meet you at the airport and take you to your accommodation. The driver will be at the arrivals gate with your name on a board. Please save IFG contact details for emergencies.
You must inform IFG of the following at least one week before the arrival date: Airline and flight number, arrival airport and terminal, date and time of arrival.
Alternatively, you can pick up a taxi at the airport – follow the taxi pick-up signs and ask the driver what payment method they accept – some accept only cash, while others accept both cash and card payments.
If you are living in Vision 1, 2 or 3 Towers accommodation arranged by IFG Abu Dhabi,then it is a short5-minute walk to IFG Abu Dhabi. Other accommodation arranged by IFG Abu Dhabi is generally a 10-minute taxi journey.
On your first day at IFG you will meet your teachers, classmates, and other IFG staff members. You will get more information about your course and life in the UAE. You will also need to fill in some forms such as a medical form, and an accommodation agreement (if your accommodation was arranged by IFG).
