Foundation Programmes: Academic Entry Requirements

To join an IFG Foundation Programme you must have completed High School with good grades or gained 4 relevant IGCSEs at Grade C (4). However, details do vary from one country to another so for specific academic entry requirements for your country please contact us or use the table below:

In addition to the details in the table below:

  • Engineering & Computer Science Foundations students require the same percentage or grade in Physics or another related subject
  • Medical Foundation students require the same percentage or grade in Biology and Chemistry

Foundation Programmes English Entry Requirements

IFG accepts all recognised English Language assessment including IELTS, TOEFL, Pearson, LanguageCert, PSI Skills for English and Duolingo. In addition, you can take our online English Placement Test.

Business Management, Computer Science & Engineering English level equivalent to 5.0 in IELTS (including 4.5 in writing)
Social Sciences English level equivalent to 5.5 in IELTS (including 5.0 in writing)
Medical Foundation Programme English level equivalent to 6.0 in IELTS (including 5.5 in writing)

Pre-Masters in Business Management Entry Requirements

  • First degree in any subject.
  • Candidates with considerable experience but no formal qualifications may be considered, subject to interview.
  • English level equivalent to IELTS 6.0

Pre-Masters in Law Entry Requirements

  • First degree in any subject.
  • Candidates with considerable experience but no formal qualifications may be considered, subject to interview.
  • English level equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.0 in reading & writing)

Pre-sessional for Postgraduate Studies Entry requirements

  • A good first degree in any subject that meets the entry requirements of the masters course(s) you want to apply for
  • English level equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.0 in reading & writing)
