During your time at IFG we will give you the best advice and support when deciding where and what to study after your IFG course as well as advice on your application and how to write your all-important Personal Statement.

Deciding where and what you want to study is one of the most important decisions that you will make and often one that determines your future career. Therefore during the first term of your IFG Foundation Programme you will receive one-to-one university advice sessions from our academic staff. If you are studying at one of our partner centres then you will have advice sessions virtually with our London academic staff as well as support from teachers at your centre.
Another important decision is where and what type of university you want to go to. As an IFG student you have the opportunity to apply for universities around the UK and can choose between city-based universities in London, Birmingham and Coventry or campus universities like The University of Essex and University of East Anglia (UEA). Or you could study at one of our partner universities in Australia and experience the Aussie way of life. So when giving you advice, we will focus on your future university experience, as well as your academic and career goals.
Once you have decided where and what you want to study, the next step is completing your application. If you are going to study in the UK your application will be made via an online system called The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), which allows students to apply to up to 5 university courses. If you are applying to a non-UK university then you will usually need to complete an online application. Either way, IFG will guide you through your application and ensure you submit it on time. We then continue to support you through the process until you have completed your Foundation and have a confirmed university place.
The personal statement is an important part of your university application. It is your opportunity to tell your university about you, your interests, your achievements and importantly why they should offer you a place. It is important that your personal statement comes from you but IFG academic staff will give feedback to make sure that you get it right.
